Stories of our past

Fort Vasquez Museum

Visit the site of an 1835 fur-trading fort and follow the paths of founders Louis Vasquez and Andrew Sublette. The traders employed many of their mountain-man friends, including Baptiste Charbonneau and Jim Beckwourth, at their adobe outpost on the South Platte River.

What to See

Go inside the reconstructed adobe fort where traders met and bartered with Cheyennes and Arapahos. A museum exhibits artifacts interpreting the fur trade and regional tribes.

Spring & Summer Hours~Daily,  10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
