With the 50th anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 fast approaching, the field of historic preservation is looking to the future to engage the upcoming generation of preservationists, archaeologists, planners, architects, more in the next fifty years of preservation in America.
To both celebrate the achievements of youth in preservation as well as encourage new young people to get involved with preservation, this year’s theme for Archaeology and Historic Preservation Month is “History in the Making: Celebrating Youth in Preservation.”
2015 is a great year to get youth involved in the heritage of your community! Join us in the AHPM celebration by adding your community’s events to our online calendar. Our newly designed calendar is now easier to use and allows for increased publicity of your event. Click on “Submit Your Event” on the above left sidebar. We can’t wait to see what you’ve got planned!
