The Colorado Encyclopedia is an online source of information about important people, places, events, and things in Colorado, including topics related to archaeology and historic preservation. Entries are organized by subject: Origins, Diversity, Community, Ecology, Political Economy, and Place.
The articles are written by a wide variety of subject matter experts and include curricular materials such as primary sources and Annotated Resource Sets. Many entries and essays are leveled specifically for 4th-, 8th-, and 10th-grade students.
The Colorado Encyclopedia is funded in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and a grant from the History Colorado State Historical Fund.
