We Have Moved!

History Colorado, including the Office of Archaeology & Historic Preservation (OAHP), the State Historic Preservation Office, and the State Historical Fund (SHF) has moved to the new History Colorado Center.

Our new address is:
1200 Broadway
Denver, CO 80203

OAHP & SHF files are available.  Limited research and photo services are available while the library is closed.

Questions & Answers About the Move

The new museum isn’t open yet, how do I get to the OAHP and SHF offices?

Until the History Colorado Center opens in spring 2012, all visitors should enter through the visitor/staff entrance on Lincoln between 12th and 13th Streets (see map).  Please check in at the security desk on the right-hand side of the entry corridor.  Let the guard on duty know the reason for your visit and he/she will call a staff member to escort you to your destination or give you directions.

Has your phone and e-mail contact information changed with the move?

All staff phone numbers will remain the same.  Email addresses have changed to firstname.lastname@state.co.us.

When does the History Colorado Center open?

History Colorado Center exhibits and public programs open April 28, 2012.  The OAHP and SHF offices are already open.

Is the Stephen H. Hart Library open?

The library re-opens January 25th, 2012, by appointment Wednesday through Friday.  In the meantime limited research services are available.  Please visit the library pages on this web site or contact library staff at cosearch@state.co.us for more information.

Can I book the History Colorado Center for an event?

Please contact Rita Rollman (303-866-4597) for all questions about booking the museum.

I’m attending a PAAC class, where do I go?

PAAC classes in Denver will take place at the History Colorado north warehouse.  Your local co-ordinator can provide more details.

Do I have to check in at the security desk?

Yes.  Until the museum opens in the spring visitors will have to come through the visitor/staff entrance on Lincoln and check in with security.  In some cases, staff may be required to come down to the front desk to meet visitors.
