This program explores the movement of people across Colorado from pre-history to 1870. Students become "experts" on one of the following cultural groups:
Cheyenne and Arapaho
History Colorado staff will come to your classroom or gymnasium to facilitate this 60-minute program. During the program, students explore objects, photographs and clues as they walk across a large floor map of Colorado, discussing the footprint each of these groups left on the state.
“I want to thank you for a fantastic learning experience for my fourth graders yesterday. They really enjoyed the artifacts that you brought to SGCE. The program fit so nicely with our curriculum and your instructors were clever in how they fit in our classroom discussion with the Moving Day program.”
Lewis Palmer Elementary, Neva Nardone
“Thanks so much for creating such an amazing resource for our 4th graders. There are so many bad programs out there and we feel so lucky to have found this one. The teachers were really enthusiastic and knew how to engage all of our kids. We will definitely have you back next year. This worked out great with what we are studying.”
Evergreen Country Day, Alicia Whitt
“Your staff went out of their way to address our scheduling needs and even tailored the program to touch on what we were studying. Our students loved every bit of the program, but especially being able to handle the artifacts. They learned a lot and laughed a lot ± perfect combination. Thank you.”
