Ikat, Shibori, Batik, Tie-dye. These are all beautiful forms of “resist dyeing” techniques (techniques wherein the fabric is tied or coated in such a way that the dye does not reach certain sections, thus creating a pattern using white space). Join us to learn about how these techniques work, and try your hand at a dye project. We’ll be dyeing cotton bandannas, but feel free to bring your own white cotton item to experiment.
We provide snacks and all supplies.
All ages welcome. RSVP strongly suggested. Please note: this program will be hosted at the History Colorado Center museum.
