Tuesday, April 17, 2012 - 7:00pm - 8:00pmThe sinking of the Titanic has had long-lasting reverberations, resurfacing in songs, movies, and novels. From Leadbelly to Bob Dylan, from Walter Lord to James Cameron, this lecture covers a range of tellings and retellings of the Titanic story.
History Colorado welcomes Steven Biel, executive director of the Mahindra Humanities Center and senior lecturer on history and literature at Harvard University and author of Down with the Old Canoe: A Cultural History of the TitanicDisaster, as he explores how Americans have made sense of the century-old Titanic disaster of April 1912.
