Each field trip combines the history of Fort Vasquez with authentic hands-on experiences, perfect for school groups, scout troops, or clubs of any kind. Each tour can be tailored to the needs of your students or scouts. Making tortillas, throwing a hatchet and starting a fire with flint and steel are just some of the offerings! Bring a sack lunch and enjoy the historic fort grounds for a picnic, weather permitting.

All of our school programs align with Colorado Academic Standards. Please ask for a list of standards addressed by our school tours by emailing Bill at william.armstrong@state.co.us.

The price of all tours is $3 per child. Teachers are free with school groups, and scoutmasters free with troops. One chaperone is free per 10 children. Additional chaperones can be arranged at the time of booking.

Title I Schools qualify for admissions and transportation discounts, including the History Colorado Bus Fund. Learn more about the bus fund here.
