Theater

Theater

The Byers-Evans House Theatre Company was founded in 2010 to bring original productions into the rooms of the historic Denver landmark. Shows take place amidst the Evans’s original furnishings, and the rooms set the stage and create the atmosphere appropriate for the historic nature of the performances.

Colorado Homegrown Tales is committed to exploring the work of local writers through the medium of theatre. Discover stories that will delight and move you written by talented and national award-winning authors from our own backyard! It’s like storytime for grown-ups, ranging from heartfelt drama to suspense, dark comedy to fantastic fiction, from exploring the past to imagining the future.

Shakespeare and Me

In this original play, Joey Wishnia shares his personal, dramatic, and often hilarious, experiences with Shakespeare. Throughout his long career, Joey has appeared in 19 of Shakespeare's plays and directed five of them on three different continents.  From his first school play through his most recent readings, he shares the trials and tribulations of an actor working with the Bard, including his encounter with the greatest Shakespearean actor of the last century - Sir Laurence Olivier. Joey is a master storyteller weaving Shakespeare's words into, and through, his own stage experiences.

February 22 – March 16, 2012, Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30.

Cost: $18 per ticket.

Buy tickets by phone by calling 303-620-4933.
