Requesting Images from the Collection
Media can submit requests to use historical images from History Colorado's photographic collection. Fees and a link to order can be found on this page. Requests may have a fee. Fees may be waived if your story or project promotes History Colorado. Normal delivery time is 2-3 weeks, but rush orders may be negotiated. Please provide the following information:
the name of your publication or media project
the ID numbers for the images you would like to receive
the format (size/resolution)
delivery method: e-mail or photo CD
whether or not your story or project promotes History Colorado, as your request may be fulfilled free of charge
All visitors may take photos and video for their private, personal use only. Media on deadline can receive assistance to site access through the Public Relations Office.
However, taking photos or video, including for stock images and other commercial purposes, is prohibited unless authorized in advance by the Public Relations office. There are also some restrictions on use of supplemental lighting. If you're planning a photo or video shoot, contact Brooke Gladstone in advance to make arrangements.
History Colorado museums and historic sites are for public use – private use is limited to clients who have a contract to use space during non-public hours. Filming requests should be submitted 1 to 2 weeks in advance. Commercial filming is generally permitted provided there is no impact to site operations, public use or other events taking place, and complies with our facility rental guidelines.
