Privacy
Protecting your privacy is important to us and we want you to understand what information we collect, how we use it and what steps we take to safeguard your privacy. We do not accept information from individuals under the age of 18.
- If you inquire about Educational Programs, we will send you mailings about future educational programs.
- If you join as a Member, History Colorado will share your name internally to inform you of our current programs. On occasion History Colorado will share your name with other cultural organizations in Colorado. If you do not wish to have your name shared with other cultural organizations, please tell us by calling 303-866-3677, or by writing to

- If you request research services from the Stephen H. Hart Library, we will keep your information on file, but we will use it only to fill your research request and for no other purpose.
- If you join as a Volunteer, you will be asked to send in a check for your volunteer organization dues; you will receive all volunteer information and invitations and you will be given an opportunity to join History Colorado for a reduced rate if you contribute 25 hours of work to the organization.
- If you rent space from us, the information is stored for 3 to 5 years. The only people who see the information are the events managers and the staff who work the events.
- If you provide information to the Museum Stores, staff will use it only as it relates to sales, and then only as long as they are answering your inquiry. Sale information is confidential; once the sale is completed the only records retained are those required for audit. No records are kept on general information inquiries.
Open Records Requests
History Colorado is a state agency that complies with the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA). To submit a CORA request to History Colorado, please send us your written request via U.S. Post Office mail. Emails or phone calls are not accepted.

There is no charge to review open records in person, but there are charges for photo copies or employee research and retrieval time for large requests.
