Celebrate Colorado Women Essay Contest

The Center for Colorado Women's History will host an essay contest to celebrate International Day of the Girl on October 11, 2018. Denver metro students in grades 3 through 8 are invited to learn about women who have made a difference in history, so that they can use them as inspiration to create a better tomorrow.

Participants should submit a 250 to 500 word essay responding to this prompt:

We have many reasons to recognize and thank  the women who came before us. We know that they have shown strength and determination in their vision for their community and their country. Their legacy still lives on today. How does their legacy inspire you to create a better future for yourself and your community?

Three winners will be invited to attend an afternoon tea to celebrate International Day of the Girl on October 11, at 4 pm, at the Center for Colorado Women's History at the Byers-Evans House.
