History Colorado Center

Welcome back! During our ongoing response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Welcome page is the best resource for up-to-date guidelines. Thank you!

Artifacts, stories, and art intermingle to tell the tale of Colorado and the American West. Designed for multi-generational audiences, the museum captures the pioneering and individualistic spirit of Colorado with exhibitions and programs.

Colorado’s story is constantly evolving, and new exhibitions and displays The John Denver ExperienceWhat’s Your Story?, Beer Here! Brewing the New West, Game Changers and This is What Democracy Looks Like bridge the gap between the history of this great state and its impact on the here and now.

Great place for all ages

"Interactive displays that document the history of Colorado ... the good times, hard times and disturbing times. Honest and comprehensive museum." - November 2019, TripAdvisor

A lot more than expected

"Prior to going, I was thinking this would just be another museum, boy was I wrong. Very well put together. Enjoyed seeing a place for the young to play and learn. The thought that went into the exhibits were really something else. We enjoyed the way environmental issues were addressed without downgrading anyone's intelligence." - September 2019, TripAdvisor
