Open for Appointments Beginning July 6th

Starting July 6th, the Stephen H. Hart Research Center will be open by appointment on Mondays—for History Colorado members only—and on Wednesdays and Fridays for all. Researchers can fill out this form to request an appointment, or email cosearch@state.co.us with any questions.

Research

To get your research started, it may be helpful to explore our collection. We recommend searching both of our catalogs for your research topic - using a variety of search terms. Although currently limited, we also offer a research service for the History Colorado collection for a fee. 

If you need assistance with your research,  please email us at cosearch@state.co.us where a staff member will field your request M-F 10am-4pm.

Visit the Janis Falkenberg Reading Room (Beginning July 6th)

Starting July 6th, the Stephen H. Hart Research Center will be open by appointment on Mondays—for History Colorado members only—and on Wednesdays and Fridays for all. Researchers can fill out this form to request an appointment or email cosearch@state.co.us with any questions. Be advised that access to some artifacts may require the submission of an additional form and take several weeks to arrange. 

The Stephen H. Hart Research Center is free of charge and open to the public. Archives, photographs, and artifacts are available (some restrictions apply) for viewing and research in the Janis Falkenberg Reading Room in the Stephen H. Hart Research Center. The Research Center is located on the 2nd floor of the History Colorado Center at 1200 Broadway. Prior to visiting, please acquaint yourself with the Reading Room Procedures and Policies.

Appointments are required, and must be requested via the Appointment Request Form at least 24 hours prior to intended visit. Requested appointments must be confirmed by staff prior to visit.
