Penny Farthing

Bikes and Big Wheels

Join us for family fun with Bikes and Big Wheels! Speed through our Big Wheel racetrack, and saddle up for a Bicycle Rodeo with Bicycle Colorado to learn the skills to ride a bike safely! We'll also have vintage bikes from New Belgium Brewing, a Penny-farthing film, the video game Paperboy, and exhibit scavenger hunts that highlight the history and evolution of bicycle travel.

Visitors are encouraged to bike to History Colorado Center, and children, 17 and under, will get free admission by showing their bike helmet at the front desk.

This event connects to the Downtown Denver Partnership’s 5280 Loop project. As a dedicated urban trail, The 5280 Loop will create a safe and stimulating bicycle route for the center city’s rapidly growing population of residents, employees and visitors, encouraging them to use active modes of transportation while engaging in Downtown’s cultural and civic facilities and open spaces. More than a trail, it will add open space to Downtown and provide a safe and beautiful place to actively recreate and engage with the Downtown neighborhoods, cultural amenities and more.

We would like to be part of reimagining the Downtown experience, and help unite urban life with Colorado’s outdoor culture by hosting Bikes and Big Wheels at the History Colorado Center.
