What was once an open sewer running through central Denver is now an amenity not just for nature lovers but for lovers of art. The walls along Cherry Creek bear more art each year, some of them national award winners! We’ll take a tour by bike, pedaling away by the creek that early explorers paddled away on, to see the art from the confluence of Cherry Creek and the South Platte River before heading upstream. It’s public beautification at its best, with insight into how the art is chosen, how it’s paid for and placed, and how it may one day make Denver a record-holder in the Guinness Book of World Records. Grab your helmets and your artistic eyes and let’s hit the trail! Pack a picnic lunch and bring your own bicycle and safety gear.
