Join the celebration of this Sacred Day for our Sixth Sun, to be held in the Plaza at El Pueblo History Museum. We will practice a Maya fire ceremony in the tradition of the K'iche' Maya of Guatemala. Candles for the ceremony can be purchased at the museum's gift shop. Participants are also encouraged to bring their owns sugar and incense as offerings to the fire, and to wear white clothing with red scarf and belt if possible.
Participants who want a Limpia, please bring two fresh eggs or twe limes, as well as two white candles. Limpias will be performed between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Price by donation.
The Fuego Sagrado ceremony will be conducted by Eduardo Griego Gonzalez Junlajuj B'atz Aj Q'ij. This event is free and open to the public.
