Members-Only Preview: American Democracy: A Great Leap of Faith

Join us for a special preview of our newest exhibition, American Democracy: A Great Leap of Faith.

America’s national treasures come to life in this engaging exhibition from the Smithsonian about the history of citizen participation, debate, and compromise from the nation’s formation to today. Awe-inspiring objects captivate guests while interactive elements spark conversation about civil rights, politics, conflict, and consensus. Amid Smithsonian objects, like a reproduction of Thomas Jefferson’s portable writing desk, discover local artifacts like the pre-statehood handwritten laws of Buckskin Joe’s mining camp. The exhibition is a core element of our ambitious and multifaceted public engagement initiative, This Is What Democracy Looks Like, designed to inspire renewed participation in election-year democracy.

Members can register for an overview of American Democracy with our exhibit developers at 10:15 am, 11:15 am, 1:15 pm, 2:15 pm, or 3:15 pm.
