Without Borders

Arte Sín Fronteras

In a collaboration with the Northern Río Grande National Heritage Area, Without Borders features artists from southern Colorado, northern New Mexico and beyond who explore the concept of Borderlands and what homelands are today. Curated by Leland Chapin, the exhibit showcases diverse art media to expand on the words of philosopher Gloria Anzaldúa: “To survive the Borderlands/you must live sin fronteras/be a crossroads.”

A border is a dividing line, a narrow strip along a steep edge. A borderland is a vague and undetermined place created by the emotional residue of an unnatural boundary. It is in a constant state of transition.
