At History Colorado we strive to be a place of belonging for all Coloradans and to serve as a platform for community connection and co-creation. We know we’re succeeding when more voices, perspectives and experiences are part of History Colorado.
We're creating community programming and developing neighborhood memory projects. We’re also working with staff and volunteers to integrate inclusivity at every level of museum work.

The volunteers of History Colorado are an important and dedicated group crucial to our operations. Volunteers play an important role in helping to tell Colorado’s story. Whether it’s greeting visitors at one of our many Community Museums, working behind the scenes of a new exhibit at the History Colorado Center, or inspiring school kids to explore our state's history, we have a variety of opportunities to use your special skills to bring Colorado’s history to life.
History Colorado is committed to providing hands-on learning and career experience through our internship program. Interns have the opportunity to work closely with museum professionals on a variety of projects to gain practical training in museum work.
We are thinking of each and every one of our valued friends, supporters, and champions during the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation in our state and in our nation.
Our mission continues because of you, the owners of Colorado’s history. Behind the scenes, online, and out in the community, History Colorado continues to serve you statewide. You are ensuring our museums and community sites continue to educate, preserve, celebrate, and serve.
As we face the future together, we look to our supporters to ensure History Colorado is here for generations to come. If you can, please consider making a special donation during this critical time. Every donation counts, thank you!
