Hands-On History Winter Break Camp at the History Colorado Center

Hands-on History Winter Break Camp is a weeklong experience at the History Colorado Center for young people ages 6 to 12 years old that bring history to life and connect to our larger world in engaging and exciting ways! Winter camp this year will bring youth from across the Denver Metro area to learn and create together.

Persist! Exploring Indigenous Knowledge
At least 48 contemporary Indigenous tribes have traditional homelands in what is now Colorado. Come explore the traditional skills and innovations of some of these sovereign Nations and learn about their ongoing stories and lives! As part of this process campers will explore ways that Indigenous people share knowledge, their relationships to the environment, and how they survive and thrive in the Rocky Mountains and beyond.
