History Colorado Center
Artifacts, stories, and art intermingle at the History Colorado Center to tell the tale of Colorado and the American West. The museum is designed for multi-generational audiences with interactive elements in the majority of the more than fifteen exhibitions that span four floors and capture the spirit of the Centennial State.
Colorado’s story is constantly evolving, and new exhibitions and displays like The Sand Creek Massacre: The Betrayal that Changed Cheyenne and Arapaho People Forever, Where is Denver’s Chinatown? Stories Remembered, Reclaimed, Reimagined, and De La Tierra, bridge the gap between the history of this great state and the here and now. Other offerings include the History Colorado Makerspace, where visitors of all ages can enjoy hands-on constructive experiences, and regular speaker series such as Bold Women. Change History. and the Rosenberry Lecture Series.

Visitor Reviews
Great place for all ages
"The exhibits were interesting, hands-on, and kept everyone in the family entertained. The facility is well cared for and easy to maneuver. We enjoyed our visit immensely." - July 2020
Clean and Safe
"The museum was well laid out. The exhibits were meaningful and interesting. The museum was super clean and I felt safe in the current COVID conditions." - July 2020
A lot more than expected
"Prior to going, I was thinking this would just be another museum, boy was I wrong. Very well put together. Enjoyed seeing a place for the young to play and learn. The thought that went into the exhibits were really something else. We enjoyed the way environmental issues were addressed without downgrading anyone's intelligence." - September 2019, TripAdvisor

We recommend booking convenient and affordable parking in advance through SpotHero by visiting the History Colorado Center SpotHero Parking Page and/or downloading the SpotHero app.
Members Only Parking Discount:
We offer discounted parking for all History Colorado members at the Art Garage behind the History Colorado Center on Lincoln Street. Payment at the Art Garage is due when you exit, so ask for a parking voucher at the History Colorado Center front desk before you leave.
- Word to the wise! The Art Garage is NOT the parking structure located next to the Art Hotel or Denver Art Museum. Instead, the Art Garage is adjacent to the Art Studios at 1200 Lincoln Street, and it's located on the east side of Lincoln Street, between E 12th Ave. and E 13th Ave. Look for the rainbow-painted building with an entrance and exit onto Lincoln Street, which is a northbound one-way street.
