After successfully rehabilitating the foundation at Crossan’s M&A Market, Historic Routt County will begin the next phase of preservation at the 1903 building that was one of the first general stores in the Yampa Valley.

Crossan’s M&A Market provided a variety of necessities for those living in the isolated and remote area, and today it is an excellent example of a false-front, two-story, commercial building of the early 20th century.  This year Historic Routt County will use funding from the State Historical Fund to preserve and rehabilitate structural and interior elements so the building may be used as both office space for the Town of Yampa and local nonprofit organizations and a location for community-wide gatherings, events, and meetings.

This building is listed on the National Register of Historic Properties.
