Grants Awarded

Bell & Canant Mercantile - MM Buck & Son - Buck & Mor-Canant General Store - M & A Market - Crossan’s M & A Market

Routt County

Built in 1903, Crossan's M & A Market served Yampa as a general store for 61 years until the business was closed in 1964 and the building became derelict.

In 2006, the Town of Yampa purchased Crossan's with a vision to rehabilitate the building. Phase 1 of the Crossan's project is complete and the building sits on a new, stable foundation. Phase 2, which involved the rehabilitation of the structure's exterior and interior first floor, was completed in April of 2017. This grant is for Phase 3 which encompasses the final work needed to complete the project as an adaptive reuse. If funded, the project will accomplish the preservation and rehabilitation of the second floor and make the entire building Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant and accessible. A rehabilitated Crossan's Market will serve as Yampa Town Hall, a visitor's center, will provide space for area nonprofits, and will serve as the hub of the Yampa community.
