Grants Awarded

Brighton Subdivision

Adams County

This grant is for the second phase of a historic resource survey designed to discover and document the historic resources located in the City of Brighton’s first subdivision plat, the Brighton Subdivision. Platted in 1881, this area contains some of the oldest remaining residential, commercial, and transportation-related structures in Brighton. These are also some of the least-documented and most-threatened historic structures within the City.

This SHF project closely follows the design and sequencing of all cultural resource surveys identified in the 2011 Brighton Historic Resources Survey Plan. The previously awarded Certified Local Government grant funded the first phase, which documented residential properties in this area. This second phase project will research and document commercial and industrial structures in this survey area (using History Colorado's Architectural Inventory Form 1403) and a section of the historic Fulton Ditch Lateral.
