Bromley Farm-Koizuma Hishinuma Farm

Adams County

One of the city of Brighton’s goals is to maintain its small-town atmosphere and increase the quality of life as it grows.  Preservation of agricultural heritage is a large part of this goal, as farmland disappears northwest of Denver.

In November 2006, Brighton purchased the 9.6 acre Bromley Farm/Koizuma Hishinuma Farm, saving its structures from demolition.  The city has already done much to preserve the farm buildings, and is now working toward second-phase work.  The grant will help fund rehabilitation of the main barn and pay for foundation work under the main house.  This project will not only bring the farm back to life, it will help preserve Brighton’s agricultural past.
