Charline Place - Charlene Place Apartments

Denver County

Constructed in 1890, Charline Place was originally designed as four large, connected townhomes by Varian and Sterner in the Richardsonian Romanesque style.

Charline Place is a contributing structure in the Pennsylvania Street Historic District and retains much of its original rusticated Manitou Sandstone architectural details and windows, although there has been significant deterioration over time. The Investigative Assessment funded by this SHF grant will provide a much-needed roadmap for complex and in-depth rehabilitation so that the building's owners can raise funds and complete the necessary reinvestment.

This project will produce an Investigative Assessment and Preservation Phasing Plan for the windows and masonry at Charline Place, an important early multi-family, sandstone structure in Denver's Capitol Hill.
