City of Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs

The City of Colorado Springs is seeking to develop a new Historic Preservation Plan.

This new plan will build upon the previous City's Historic Preservation Plan adopted in 1993 and other guiding documents to refine its preservation program and preservation efforts in the community. The timing of this project is paramount, as the City has undertaken a planning process to develop a comprehensive plan (called "PlanCOS") for the future of the City. The City procured consultant will prepare a community-based and action-oriented plan to inform the City about its historic resources, improve resource preservation efforts, guide and prioritize preservation projects, and aid in the development of effective regulatory processes. This planning effort is expected to begin in the spring of 2017 and be finished in approximately nine months.
