Grants Awarded
Colorado State Hospital Superintendent’s House / CSH Conference Center and Museum
Pueblo County
The Administrator's Residence, Playhouse, and Garage is located at Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo (CMHIP),which was constructed in 1934. It now functions as a museum exhibiting antique medical equipment, artifacts, and photos portraying the history of CMHIP since its founding in 1879.
The pitched red tile roof is original to the residence with flat roofs flanking the residence and upon the playhouse and garage as well. Due to old age, the pitched tile roof and flat roofs leak. The leaks not only potentially jeopardize the structure, but the relics within the building as well. This grant will help fund repairs to roofs.
The building is listed on the National Register.
