The 1962 Country Club Gardens is architecturally significant as an excellent example of New Formalism architecture.

Country Club Garden Apartments 

Local architect John F. Milan included many New Formalism character-defining features in the Country Club Gardens Apartments including colorful, geometric metal screens that create the exterior lanais are a bold decorative element that adds excitement to the rigid geometric organization of the building complex.  As originally designed, portions of the large monolith building appear to float above the ground on slender pilotis that create a modern colonnade.
