The Denver Mint was officially established in 1895, and the original two-story Second Renaissance Revival style granite building was completed in 1904.

Denver Mint 

Construction began in 1897 under the supervision of James Knox Taylor, and coinage operations commenced in 1906.  Ranking as one of Denver’s most popular tourist attractions, over the years, the Treasury Department constructed numerous additions to accommodate increases in production and visitation.
