For years, Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) has been committed to the preservation of cultural resources on state park lands, carrying out State Historical Fund grant projects at Castlewood Canyon, Eldorado Canyon, Lone Mesa, Roxborough, and others.

This year CPW continues its dedication to preservation by using SHF funding to develop construction documents that will inform the future rehabilitation and preservation of seven historic resources at Staunton Ranch, the newest addition to the state park system.  All seven of the buildings are significant for their typological Colorado mountainous architecture as well as their use in early Colorado industry, entertainment, and recreation.  Preserving these resources will enhance the visitor experience for both current and future generations.

This site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
