Treat Hall

Denver County

The construction of Treat Hall represented the beginning of Colorado Women’s College, the first such college in the Rocky Mountain area.  Completed in 1909, Treat Hall was the academic and visual focal point of the campus.

Designed by architects Jackson and Betts, the building is three stories in height, and its massing, materials, and detail reflect the Richardsonian Romanesque style.  The rough-faced walls are constructed of Castle Rock rhyolite trimmed in red sandstone.
