Western Federation of Miners Local #32 Hall

Teller County

From 1903 to 1904, Victor witnessed the height of the Colorado Labor Wars, during which time the Miner’s Union Hall played a crucial role as a gathering place place for miners and laborers.  The hall was even caught in the crossfire: today, bullet holes are still visible along its back wall.

A two-story stone building. There is an arched entryway to the building with four arched windows facing the street on the second floor.

In 1924, the building was deeded to the Victor School District.  This year, through funding from the History Colorado State Historical Fund, the Southern Teller County Focus Group will rehabilitate the first floor facade to augment work previously completed by the individual owner, allowing the building to serve both as retail space and a tribute to worker’s rights and the miners of Victor’s harrowing past.
