DENVER – On April 11, 2016, the City of Woodland Park became a Certified Local Government (CLG) under the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966. Woodland Park will use its status as a CLG to designate and protect historic properties, maintain a qualified historic preservation review commission composed of professional and lay members, and maintain a system for the survey and inventory of historic properties. As a CLG, Woodland Park will also provide for public participation in the historic preservation program, including nominations to the National Register of Historic Places.
DENVER – A recent Colorado Public Radio interview and CU Denver Today article on the work of Andrew Rumbach, Ph.D., and Douglas Appler, Ph.D., highlighted the concern for planning for natural disasters in the context of historic preservation.
