History Colorado Hires Deborah Radman as PR Director

DENVER, Nov. 18 – History Colorado announced today that the organization has hired long-time public relations veteran, Deborah Radman, as its Public Relations Director.  The appointment of Radman was effective November 1.

“Our ability to bring on board someone this seasoned and with such a high profile in the public relations industry is really exciting for us,” said Ed Nichols, CEO, at History Colorado.  “We expect great things.  Deborah brings a whole new level of sophistication to our communications strategies and programming.  In fact, over the past four months with Deborah working for us as a consultant, we have already begun to see the affect of her expertise.”

Radman has been in public relations consulting for more than 30 years.  She got her start here in Denver working for Darcy Communications in the late 70s and went on to become a principal in and operate two significant Denver firms in the 80s and 90s:  Servoss-Barnhart Public Relations (now Servoss PR) and Brown Radman Wolper (BRW). In 1999, she sold BRW to a New York IR/PR firm and took over as Chief Operating Officer of the firm’s PR practice in New York City, thus leaving Denver for almost 15 years.  After that, Radman opened a New York office for a Washington D.C.-based public affairs firm and then was recruited to head the public relations division of a major consumer products advertising agency.  In 2010, she formed Radman Communications LLC and continued to work with national and international clients including IBM, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the USO and Churchill Downs.   Radman returned to Denver in early 2014 and began working as a strategic communications consultant for History Colorado.

“This is a terrific opportunity for me,” says Radman.  “What better way to re-enter Colorado than via an immersion in this state’s rich history.  I can’t think of a more fitting way to come home.”

Radman also has a long resume of public relations industry awards and recognition.  She has held several industry organization positions including president of the Women in Public Relations Foundation, chairperson of the Public Relations Society of America Counselor’s Academy, and president of both Colorado and New York chapters of PRSA.  She also has won significant awards for her work in public relations including the PRSA NY Lifetime Achievement award and several PRSA Silver Anvils. Currently she is Secretary/Treasurer of the PRSA College of Fellows and a board member The Gathering Place based in Denver.
