What: In 1872, William Frederick “Buffalo Bill” Cody began his career in Wild West Shows. Cody, an American scout and bison hunter, travelled across the U.S. performing larger-than-life stories of cowboys fighting American Indians. Goldie Griffith Cameron featured as lady bronc rider for the Wild West Shows, which showcased exciting horse showmanship. Goldie met her future husband while working for the show and was married during a performance in Madison Square Gardens -- Buffalo Bill even gave the bride away. History Colorado is excited to present to the public Goldie’s elaborate wedding outfit, beaded by the Sioux performers from the Wild West Show, as well as a photo from the wedding and Buffalo Bill Cody’s wedding gift to Goldie.
