Centennial Farms award ceremony honors Colorado’s agricultural heritage
DENVER (July 14, 2016)—Twenty-three Colorado families who have owned and operated their farm or ranch for 100 years or more will be honored at the 30th Centennial Farms awards ceremony held on August 26 at Colorado's State Fair.
The families will receive a certificate commemorating the event, as well as a Colorado Centennial Farm sign to display on their farm or ranch. Elected representatives of the families’ districts will be present to participate in the award ceremony. The families will be available for photographs and interviews before and after the event.
Since 1986, History Colorado, the Colorado Department of Agriculture, and the Colorado State Fair have partnered to administer the Centennial Farms program. The Colorado Tourism Office has been a partner since 2015.
