El Pueblo History Museum Hands-On History program expanding Friday offerings

PUEBLO, Colo. (August 22, 2018) – In order to meet the needs of Pueblo working families with the transition to a 4-day school week, El Pueblo History Museum will expand its Hands-On History program to full days on Fridays.

Hands-On History has served hundreds of students at El Pueblo History Museum since 2014. The program will offer five sessions per day, with four classes per session.  Class options include Fun with Fiber: Crochet, Survivor 1842, Modern Homesteading, Fit Club, Pencils & Paints, and more. Every instructor is an expert in the subject matter of their class, helping to create a quality educational program in a safe, secure environment.

The expanded Hands-On History Friday program will run from 8 am to 5 pm every Friday from September 7 to December 14. Enrollment is open now and is available to students in first through eighth grade. Half-day and full-day options are available. Tuition ranges from $15 to $30 per week with scholarships available for families qualifying for free/reduced lunch, enrolling multiple children, and museum members, to cover up to 70% of the cost.
