History Colorado seeking new applicants for Women's History Fellowship at the Center for Colorado Women's History

DENVER (January 14, 2019) - History Colorado is seeking three recipients for its Women's History Fall Fellowship at the Center for Colorado Women’s History at the Byers-Evans House Museum. We invite scholars, activists, artists, musicians and writers who are engaged in the expansion and expression of knowledge to help inform the understanding of women in Colorado’s history, specifically through the interdisciplinary lens and methodologies of women’s studies, gender studies, and/or race and ethnic studies. Fellows will have workspace at the Center for Colorado Women’s History at the Byers-Evans House Museum and receive a stipend of $5,000.

About the Fellowship

Scholars, activists, artists, musicians, and/or writers will focus on the generation of knowledge and/or the expression of history within the scope of the interdisciplinary fields of women’s studies, gender studies and ethnic studies. Participants will help to inform the narrative of women’s history at the Center for Colorado Women’s History and contribute to the greater understanding of the history of women in Colorado. Successful candidates will be willing to engage in museum and community events such as exhibits, arts projects, programs, and collaborations with other History Colorado properties and sites.

Fellowships will take place between September 1 through December 1, 2019. Applications must include a cover letter, 1500-word proposal detailing the study, research, or project, that will inform the greater understanding of women in Colorado’s history, Curriculum Vitae, and three recommendation letters.
