Labor Day weekend at the History Colorado Center abounds with activities for all ages.
DENVER— Activities for all ages abound this Labor Day weekend at the History Colorado Center as the The American Soldier and All Aboard Colorado! exhibits come to a close. Entry into these exhibits is included in the cost of general admission, and children 12-years-old and under continue to receive free museum admission through Sept. 30 when accompanied by an adult (two children per each paid adult that registers in the History Buff program).
In June 2013, History Colorado welcomed Tribal representatives from the Northern Cheyenne of Montana, the Northern Arapaho of Wyoming, and the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma, along with officials from the National Park Service Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site, to the History Colorado Center for a Tribal consultation that was convened by the Colorado Commission of Indian Affairs. During the consultation, concerns that had been expressed by the Tribes about the exhibit on the Sand Creek Massacre at the History Colorado Center were discussed. The consultation also served as an opportunity to envision a longterm relationship and partnership between the Tribes and History Colorado. The exhibit will remain closed as consultations continue.
