Builders of Colorado - Biographical Series
This ever-expanding Builders of Colorado biographical series focuses on individual engineers, designers, developers, builders, contractors, and manufacturers who practiced professionally in Colorado after 1860. Engineering firms, construction companies and manufacturing firms are also included.
Builder Biographies
In addition to a short biographical sketch or company history, a list of credited buildings, structures, and developments is provided. This information is based largely on the files in the Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation, particularly National and State Register nomination documentation and the Site Files cultural resource database. The narratives are in PDF format.
Even in the case of the most well-known and well-documented Colorado builders, new research regularly uncovers additional biographical information and identifies previously unknown associated properties. We welcome information, corrections, and comments regarding the individuals and firms recognized here.
