Teen Museum Corps

The El Pueblo History Museum is looking for 9th-12th grade students to assist with our Hands On History summer program. *Must be 14 or older by the orientation date to apply. 

Each member of the Museum Corps must be able to commit to a minimum of 50 hours for the summer, starting the week of June 10 through August 9 (no camp July 1st-5th). (Of course, we can work around family vacations and other obligations.) Teens will receive a $200 stipend at the end of the program. Participants will also earn real-world experience, and over 50 hours for school-related community service credit.

All qualified applicants will be invited to an interview. Participants who are selected for the Teen Museum Corps will be required to attend an orientation prior to the start of our program.

Retail Shop and Admissions Volunteer

As a Retail Shop and Admissions Volunteer, you will play a key role in enhancing the visitor experience at our museum. This position offers a unique opportunity to interact with visitors, share the rich history of our community, and contribute to the museum's mission of education and cultural preservation.

Key Responsibilities: Greet visitors warmly and provide information about museum exhibits and programs. Handle admissions, process ticket sales, and maintain accurate records. Assist visitors in the retail shop, offering guidance on merchandise, processing sales transactions, and maintaining inventory. Provide excellent customer service, answering inquiries, and addressing visitor needs. Collaborate with museum staff to ensure a smooth visitor experience.

Desired Schedule: A minimum of one shift per week is preferred. Shifts are available 10am-1pm and 1pm-4pm Monday through Saturday.

Special Events Volunteer

Do you enjoy working as a team, interacting with the public, and being an ambassador of fun? Special Event Volunteers offer a customer service experience and event support for the El Pueblo History Museum.

Key Responsibilities: Volunteers will support events, be an ambassador for the museum, and will be asked to jump in to help out wherever is needed. The events team is an "all hands on deck" group where everyone pitches in as necessary. This is the perfect opportunity for anyone interested in bringing history to life for our visitors.

Desired Schedule: Hours vary based on the event; must commit to a minimum of 2 events per year. Includes evening and weekend shifts.

Desired Skills: Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time. Friendly and warm personality (a must!!). Ability to follow directions and be adaptable with last minute changes if they occur. Ambassadors for the El Pueblo History Museum/History Colorado. Comfortable in high energy environments
