THe great west
Northwest Colorado
The Northwest corner of our state offers a stunningly diverse landscape that ranges from the snow-capped peaks of the Rockies to the scarlet mesas of the Western Slope. This area was the summer hunting grounds of the Ute Indians for centuries.
In this region, the spirit of the West is alive and well. Enjoy the outdoors by hunting, fishing, horseback riding, skiing, kayaking, canoeing, and snowmobiling in the breathtaking terrain. Take time to explore the small towns, each with their own unique charm. From Oak Creek, to Fraser, to Rangely, these close-knit communities welcome visitors to enjoy the warm hospitality and rich histories. The region is home to Dinosaur National Monument, where one can take a journey into the prehistoric past and explore the area dinosaurs called home during the late Jurassic era.
In Northwest Colorado, the past, present, and future combine to weave a tapestry of magnificent natural beauty, incredible outdoor adventures, generational working ranches, and wonderful small towns, all just waiting to be explored.
