The Pedwell Farm, located near Durango in La Plata County, got its start in 1896. Four years after Edward and Martha Pedwell were married in Durango's Strater Hotel, they decided that they didn't want to raise their young boys in the "big city" of Durango. So, they traded seven lots in town for a homestead on Florida Mesa, and the family has been living there ever since. Edward and Martha's daughter, Marie Pedwell  Shields, still lives there, as does her daughter and grandchildren. The family is also a recipient of the historic structures award.

The Oaklands Ranch encompasses over 1100 acres in Douglas County near Sedalia, and has been home to six generations of the Curtis family. The ranch got its start in 1871 when Henry C. Curtis immigrated  from Wales to start a homestead in Colorado. Henry's son, Charles W. Curtis later inherited the ranch, and he, in turn, passed it down to his four sons, Henry, Charles, Edgar, and Kenneth. The Curtis family will also be receiving the historic structures award for the preservation of a number structures, including the original 1871 homestead house.

The Johnson-Skold Farm, located on 320 acres in Phillips County near Haxtun, is also celebrating its centennial this year. It got its start when K. August Johnson began a quarter section homestead in 1896, and was expanded in 1910 when his daughter, Esther, and her husband, Joseph N. Skold, started their own homestead on an adjacent quarter section. The farm was later passed on to Joseph and Esther's daughter, Gladys, and her husband, Lawrence Bjorklun. Today, the farm is owned by Glenn and Melvin Skold, nephews of Gladys and the great grandsons of K. August Johnson.

The Dickerson-Cullison Farm, located on over 435 acres of farmland in Weld County near Windsor, is celebrating its centennial this year. It was first established in 1896 by William Dickerson, and his wife, Mary Jane. It was later passed on to their daughter, who married Thomas G. Cullison. Today it is known as the Cullison Family Farm and is managed by William Dickerson's great grandson, Tom Cullison. The Cullison Family will also be receiving the historic structures award for several early farm buildings.

The Deter-Hanks Ranch is located in Arapahoe County near the town of Deer Trail. It was first settled in 1891 by Philip Deter, Sr. who chose the site of his homestead "because there was live water, good grass .... and trees for protection." Philip eventually passed the ranch on to his daughter, Clara, and her husband, Harold Hanks. Today the ranch encompasses 3000 acres, and is operated by Philip Deter's grandson, John Hanks and his wife Margaret.

The Delventhal-Miller Farm was established in 1892 when brothers John and Herman Delventhal purchased two half sections of land in Weld County, near Brighton. Herman and his wife, Mary, eventually ended up with the north half of the farm, and, in 1945, passed on 30 acres to their youngest daughter, Esther, who had just married Martin Miller. The Miller family is also receiving the National Trust's historic structures award for the preservation of several buildings, including the original house and barn.

The Davey Ranch is located in Saguache County near the town of Saguache. It was first homesteaded by John Jack Davey in 1870, six years before Colorado attained statehood. The ranch was handed down to Arthur Davey, the father of the ranch's current owner, John L. Davey, who raises cattle and hay. The Davey Ranch includes several historic structures that are still in use, including an old cabin and blacksmith shop, both of which date to the 1870s.

The Corset Ranch covers 600 acres near Del Norte in Rio Grande County. It was purchased from Peter Eschofen in 1895 by Duncan Colville, who, in turn, passed it on to his son Alex. Today, it is operated by Duncan's grandson, David G. Colville, who raises cattle as well as alfalfa and Coors barley. The Colville family is also receiving the historic structures award for having preserved several historic buildings including a couple of original log structures.

The Boger Farm, located near Vona in Kit Carson County, was first settled in 1896 by Frank Boger and his new bride Flora. Frank and Flora had nine children, but it was their eldest surviving son, Horace, and his wife Opal, who took over operations in the 1930s. In 1985 their daughter, Joyce, and her husband, John Miller, moved on to the farm. The Boger Farm is also being given the historic structures award from the National Trust, for the preservation of several historic structures, most of which date to the 1930s.

The Wells-Champlin Ranch, is located on 912 acres 5 miles west of Telluride, in San Miguel County. Dating to 1882, it was established by James Wells, the great great grandfather of the current owners, the Schmid family. Several historic buildings dating back to 1885 still stand on the land.
