Teacher Professional Development

History Colorado offers engaging professional development opportunities throughout the year that blend content and pedagogy and provide classroom-ready resources. We will also work with schools and districts to create custom professional development opportunities that combine expert speakers, resource packets and museum admission.

Teaching with Primary Sources Western Region Summer Teacher Institute

Explore cross-curricular connections for women in history, including the Colorado and National Women's Suffrage Movement, and learn about engaging, innovative and effective primary source strategies for the K-12 classroom. Institute will be held at History Colorado Center in Denver from June 27-28, 2019.

K-12 Teachers, librarians, and educators at large are invited to apply by May 24, 2019 (all grade levels and curricular areas welcome). Participants will learn of their acceptance by June 3rd, 2019. Limited number of stipends available to help with travel costs. One hour optional grad credit as well as 16 hour re-certification credit also available.
