The Denver & Rio Grande Western (D&RGW) Brake Shoe Car AX-22019 is important for its association with transportation from 1944 to 1996 for its rail service in Colorado. Built during the highpoint of riveted flatcars, it is an example flatcar built during the period of World War II. 

The car functioned with D&RGW Derrick No. 027 from circa 1957 until 1997.  The D&RGW’s Salt Lake City car shops created the car by refitting an elegant business car to perform maintenance-of-way functions.

The sole survivor of its type, the 1930 Baggage-Railway Post Office Car is one of the last of three to operate on the D&RGW until the end of rail mail service in 1967.

The 1910 Baggage-Express Car provided baggage and express freight service as part of scheduled passenger train service. 

The 1901-02 Delaney Carriage Company Building is a rare surviving example of a former carriage fabrication and repair facility which later housed an automotive-related manufacturing firm. 

The buildings in the district reflect a wide diversity of styles and levels of sophistication in their design.  While some wood frame examples survive, most are masonry.  The oldest surviving residence dates from 1876, and the majority of the buildings were constructed between 1885 and 1890. 

Formerly called Mountain View Park, Cranmer Park’s unique open design emphasizes its high plains setting and frames exceptional views of the Rocky Mountains. 

The Country Club Historic District includes one of Denver’s most prestigious early 20th century neighborhoods.  Many of Denver’s prominent architects designed the area’s large houses. 

The district contains an important collection of one and one-and-one-half story brick bungalows dating from the 1910s and early 1920s.  The bungalow achieved a high degree of popularity as a type of single family housing in the first three decades of the 20th century.  

The .3-mile parkway dates from 1911 and is a good example of the use of a parkway to connect a residential neighborhood and a neighborhood park to the main parkway system.
