The 1902 Buford School has long been the educational center of the rural area near Buford and served as the local school until consolidation in 1952.

The 1936 Alma Community Church is significant for its role in the social history of the community.

Surrounded by agricultural fields, the two-story Colona School building can easily be seen from a distance, thereby serving as a local visual landmark. 

This traditional basilica plan church was built in 1916 following the design of the Denver architectural firm of the Baerresen Brothers.

Established in 1929, the Creede Federal Fish Hatchery operated for 36 years as one of two federal hatcheries in the state. 

This early Mesa County community center dates from 1920.

Stock Car 5627 is a single-deck car originally built in 1904 to transport livestock.  In 1926 it was rebuilt. 

Constructed in 1914 and associated with the early settlement of Dove Creek, most locals agree that this was the second building to be constructed in town.

Iglesia de San Pedro y San Pablo is significant for Hispanic Heritage as the communal gathering place for the communities of San Pedro and San Pablo.

The Wetmore Post Office served as the continuing hub of local community activity and communication since beginning operation in 1881.
