The 1873 Milner-Schwarz House is architecturally significant as an excellent example of an I-House with a classic modification, a single-story rear wing built contemporaneously to the main section. Character-defining features of the I-House form include the two-room wide and one-room deep plan with a central passage and minimal exterior ornamentation. 

The circa 1892 William H. McCreery House is an important local interpretation of the Orson S. Fowler Octagonal Movement of the 1850s.  Designed and contracted by McCreery, its hexagonal floor plan is a modification of the eight-sided dwellings popularized by Fowler.  

During the 1920s, community boosters in Loveland spearheaded a successful effort to establish a National Guard unit in town, primarily as an economy-building and patriotic measure.  The 1926 building served for 35 years as the headquarters and training facility for local units of the National Guard. 

The Hyatt-Spence-Pulliam Ranch (Bobcat Ridge Natural Area) contains a variety of historic buildings that represent two eras of settlement in Larimer County.

The 1906 brick church is a good local example of early 20th century ecclesiastical architecture. 

Constructed by Loveland contractor and builder Norton C. Fansler in 1905, the house is a good local example of a vernacular variation of a late Queen Anne style residence. 

Completed in 1902, this relatively small depot appears grand and sophisticated with its classical lines and details in the tradition of the Romanesque Revival style.

Located on a hill overlooking the Big Thompson River, the Chasteen Ranch appears much as it did before the turn of the century.  The existing ranch house was built in the spring of 1889.  It has undergone several minor modifications but retains most of its original character.

The 1920 Maude Stanfield Harter Borland House is an example of the Craftsman / Bungalow style, with a clipped gable roof, half-timbering, and a pergola covered entry, as well as a matching Craftsman style garage. 

The Downtown Loveland Historic District is the city’s commercial center that began in 1877.  Loveland developed initially as a railroad town, but soon also became a major agricultural center and a regional center of commerce and government.
