Borderlands of Southern Colorado Speaker Series

Borderlands + Suffrage in Colorado - Online

Join us on Zoom as we move our great history talks online. In this new, participatory format we will hear from Dawn DiPrince, Chief Operating Officer at History Colorado for a brief lecture, followed by discussion.

DiPrince will explore the myths about and the impact of southern Colorado on women's suffrage in the Centennial state -- with a specific focus on the rights of borderland residents in the midst of land dispossession, and leaders like Las Animas County's Casmiro Barela and Huerfano County's Agepeta Vigil.

The event is free and open to the public but registration is required.
